Shout out to Fivacious and Holy Situation - my favorite accapella singing groups! The title of this blog is a direct lyric from the 'Nailed to the Cross' album by Fivacious. Today's (micropersonal) news: I now have in my posession, a video camera. This is the third largest monetary purchase I've ever made (Car, laptop, video cam). Shot two videos this morning.
It is now 2011. Some people have strong feelings about what's going to happen in the year 2012. For me, it is just another year, another chance to contribute what I can, when I can to help this gorgeous but wounded world of people, plants and animals, Lord willing. I have been unable to pass out many food kits this month (although MANY is not the goal - one at a time, to people who need it, is the goal for the car kits). Neither have I been able to pass out scarves, hats, or mittens during what would seem to be the very coldest time of the year. I have the items all ready to go but have been go-going myself, as God needed me. I was assisting others in different ways. Had the privilege and learning opportunity of helping two other "soldiers of love," to prepare 3 meals a day for thirty people, two days in a row. What a blessing! I learned how possible it is when we choose to work with each other, to fill in the gaps, recognize each other's strengths and help out while taking responsibility and pride in our specific tasks. Oh! And communication paired with the ability to hear, process, and consider other's points of view is also a requirement! I have tried to help others in my work environment as well as my family and personal life. My food ministry is alive and well. I just have to do what I have to do when I need to do it. I am ready to ask for donations again, at work and otherwise though I feel nervous about asking the businesses near where I work as it is an "upper crust, boutique-y" kind of area.
